My dear friend, Nellie Veitenheimer current address: Los Angeles is in Tacoma for the holidays...Nellie booked a December 22, 2012 show at NPCC in Tacoma. A standing room only crowd enjoyed a lovely performance by a very unique artist. Nellie displayed her amazing chops, her gift which allowed her to catch the eye of Ryan Murphy and Robert Urich of the Glee Project. Despite an incredibly busy y...

I would have thought that seeing a song deconstructed like this would take some of its magic away, but, if anything, it just makes me appreciate it more!

Their music is like 'revenge of the studio nerds'. Their music still stands up today.

I am blessed with a boss that gives me complete control of the music that is played over the speakers and Steely Dan's complete recordings is played all the way through at least once a week. Not one of their songs is a dud.

Rick’s groove and presicion and technique and feel is mindblowing - it looks relatively ‘easy’ but it is an extremely difficult beat to play correct on the drums, with the 3-stroke roll in between opening the hi-hat WOW. That’s why Walter and Donald picked his touch and feel and complexity for PEG

Rainy says they never knew he was slappin’ on that bridge, but I’m betting Becker and Fagen knew exactly what was going down on that song…and all the rest of them, too.

I grew up in a music household. R&B fantastic bass player step father and singer mother. Lots of fun parties and my sister and I would play with the other kids. My mother use to play this band on the 8-track and stereo when I was a kid. I'm 50 now and listening to Steely Dan i just cant help but notice how their talents then still hold water today. As far as complexity goes and just attention to detail.

I was blown away by Walter Becker's explanation of the Syncopation between the bass and the kick, starting at 2:55. Tbh, I always had an affinity for that section of Peg, but never fully understood why. Much Appreciated 🔥👏

Saw Donald in Seattle right before the Covid nonsense and couple of years after Walter passed. It was great but I miss Walter. the Danettes did a great job. The Doobies opened for Steely Dan and their set was super tight. Everything but the Michael McDonald tunes.

Norah Jones crushes every single song she ever does. She has absolutely amazing vocals and spectacular piano playing. After all these years since she first came out, she is still the most beautiful woman to ever walk the planet.. Nobody going back 3000 years from present day can even hold a candle to her beauty and talent. This is a woman right here..
